The clash of styles was always expected to produce an open, engaging final, and so it proved. Nigeria quickly gained a foothold and went on to dominate the first half, creating a better and more numerous chances. An inability to convert those chances was their only failing and with the most guilty party being Nigeria’s talisman and tournament top scorer Asisat Oshoala. A star has again been discovered through this tournament. The future of African women football thus looks beautiful. Lets give it to Asisat Oshoala.
