Rihanna and
Chris Brown
came face-to-face as they both attended CC Sabthia's and Robinson
Cano's Summer Classic Charity Basketball Game at the Barclays Center in
NYC on Thursday, Aug. 21.
The former lovebirds didn't appear to have much interaction during
the event, but Rihanna did play spectator to Brown's gaming skills. The
"Diamonds" singer, 26, sat courtside with a few female pals — including
Cara Delevingne
— as she watched Brown and others battle it out for a good cause. She
dressed casual in shorts, a comfy sweatshirt and added a pop of red lip.
25-year-old Brown, meanwhile, cracked a smile a few times while playing
ball in a red jersey. Before calling it a night, he even snagged a photo
with Yankees captain and shortstop
Derek Jeter.
One night earlier, the "Don't Wake Me Up" singer looked affectionate with his girlfriend
Karrueche Tran
at the USA basketball game against Dominican Republic at Madison Square
Garden in NYC. "@karrueche damn near 5 years and this woman still
putting up with my s--t," Brown wrote via Instagram at the time. "Need
to have this baby and stop playing!"
Rihanna and Brown famously dated for two years before Brown was
charged with assault
against the Barbados native in February 2009 following the 51st Annual
Grammy Awards in L.A. Rihanna supported Brown at his court hearing, and
after some time apart,
they controversially got back together
in January 2013. Their on-and-off relationship finally went kaput for
good when Brown confirmed in May 2013 that the pair split during an
interview with Australian radio show
