Terrence Howard is single once more. The Empire star
secretly divorced his third wife, Mira Pak, on Monday July 27, the New York
Daily News has confirmed.
In legal papers obtained by the outlet, it is stated that
Pak, 38, started divorce proceedings (citing irreconcilable differences) back
in March, whist pregnant with her and Howard's first child.
The couple's son, Qirin Love was born in May, and despite
the fact that Howard claimed to be doing his share of baby night duty, Pak says
in divorce papers that she and the 46-year-old actor had been living separately
since August 2014.
The information about Howard's most recent divorce became
public during the closing arguments of a separate court proceeding relating to
his second wife Michelle Ghent on Monday, August 17.
The court case on Monday between Howard and Ghent is his
ongoing bid to overturn his 2012 settlement with his former wife, amid claims
that she had blackmailed him. The Oscar nominated star says his ex threatened
to release embarrassing recordings of him dancing naked and having phone sex
with other women, if he didn't agree to a hefty divorce settlement.
Ghent maintains, via her lawyers, that her actions were just
one side of a fiery relationship.
It was during Howard's testimony that the judge referred to
Pak, who appeared in court by the actor's side just last week, as his
"ex-wife." The comment came amid telephone recordings of a
conversation Howard had with Ghent in October 2013 claiming he still loved her,
despite having recently married Pak.
“I will never love someone like I loved you,” Howard told
Ghent in the October 2013 call. “You are my dream of all time.”
Ghent claims his phone call -- and the emotion expressed
within -- is evidence that she had not extorted him a year previously. Howard
says otherwise, and insists his relationship with Ghent was complicated. “I
loved her, and I was afraid of her also,” he testified Monday.
A ruling on this case is due early next week.
