Everyday, stars are born. See more come through #KONAMI2014.



#KONAMI2014 – an inter-orphanage football competition which kicks off on the 26th of July at the campus mini stadium with activities including: football competition between Unilag students and Babcock students, Students studying in the diaspora versus students in Nigeria, a female team versus a celebrity team, also this year’s event will feature celebrities such as the rave of the moment- Patoranking and ace comedian Koffi amongst others. Speaking about the event the President, said #KONAMI2014 is aimed at bridging the gap between these Orphans and the society.






“We want to create an atmosphere where everybody from those in the orphanage homes and the society at large can come and enjoy the love and the peace in the society” he said. He explained further that six orphanages will take part in this year’s competition but that they were not allowed to mention the six orphanages taking part.

When asked of the plans they have to make the event bigger, he said the Change Africa Project is looking at taking the competition to other countries in Africa such as South-Africa and Kenya
He also used the medium to solicit for help. He called on the general public and well meaning Nigerians to support their course.



On why they chose soccer, the Vice president, Lawore Olaposi responded that football is the most unifying game in the world today and cited the coming world-cup (the hype and the buzz attached to it) as example. He explained further that this is just their own little way of seeking for change until they get to a stage where their voices can be heard.
